Hey guys. I know these annoying questions pop up all the time but I have to add to them. See it looks like I will be returning to school to get my MA. Thats bad news for my upgrade budget. I'm checking to see if this extreme budget head swap would be worth it.

I have a set of mildly worked gt40 iron heads already. What If I just had my stock lower intake ported by tmoss, swap to 1.7 rockers, and kept the H.O cam?

I'm hoping for about 230-240hp and maybe a 13sec 1/4. Am I dreaming?

I know that the lack of supporting mods will be keeping me from getting all of the heads potential but I seriesly need my money. I'm getting married this year as well. Big boy bill times comming. I have gotten the ok to finish this swap on the extreme budget so that I have a toy to keep my sain in my up in comming months of being poor...again....

When I got the cash I will do her right.

Numbers seem right,as far as times...that depends on a few different issues but 13's would be very very reasonable with the set up.

12.7s on ported stock heads (flow about the same as your Gt heads) and ported stock intake, stock injectors and TB, and combos very close to yours on 242RWHP.

Check out the dynos in the "Photo Galleries" section of my website..........

edit: 12.30s with a drag car suspension set up - also on the site.........weight and hook play into it bigtime..........

13's easy, 12's all day on the right suspension?tires......Its all in the chassis setup. Drop some weight, Do say an eibach drag launch kit w/the air bag, and some upper and lower control arms and you could squeek into the 12's on a stock motor notch ( ive seen it done) Thats decently light, a short belt, subframes and suspension. Good Luck!
