what does a stock E7TE weigh?

what does a stock E7TE weigh? does anyone know? i calibrated my scale at 50lbs with weights then put the head on and it weighed in at around 48lbs. just wondering if my scale is accurate?

The common concensus is 45-50lbs for the average smallblock Ford iron cylinder head, so I would say your scale is accurate. I notice you have the sparkplugs in; that will make it around a pound heavier.

Did you want to know how much an E7 weighs or if your scale was correct?

That would be pretty redneck to see if you scale was accurate with a cylinder head. Sound about right though.

Shipping weight on a complete set of GT-40 irons (rockers included) was 59 pounds per head. I figure in maybe 3-4lbs for the packing so approximently 54-55lbs per head with valve train.

I did it to check the weight of the E7 and check the weight of other parts I removed.
Box of misc EFI parts, A/C compressor, etc... 55lbs.
Supercharger, smog pump, brackets... 45lbs.
Typhoon intake is 30lbs but the new carb intake is prob right at that...
So dropped 100lbs off the nose

in comparrison, what does the average aluminum head weigh?

My box stock Holleys weighed right about 28lbs, my AFR225 with titanium retainers, porting etc weight 36# each
