Spare tire orientation?

Just now getting around to putting a spare tire under the bed. Does anyone know which way it should be oriented? The outside of the wheel facing toward the bed or the ground?

Just curious but are you talking about a truck because you said bed? If so then if you want access to the valve stem in order to monitor air pressure then obviously you want the valve stem facing towards the ground.
