What does everyone do for a living and for fun?

I work as a sales manager for a mortgage company, I own a glass company (dont run it anymore), and I bartend a couple nights a week.

For fun I dabble with stocks, do a little real estate investing, and wholesale cars. Other than that all I do is work. Yeah my life is sooooo much fun right now.....

Quality Tech for a Hunter Douglas fabricator, which means I get paid well to do nothing.

Aside from working on the stang, I'm into lifting and watching sports; can't play anymore since I've dislocated my left knee twice. I go out drinking a lot and sleeping is one my favorite things to do.

Ouch!! How'd you dislocate your knee?

I tore my ACL/MCL/Meniscus playing soccer about 7 months ago and had my reconstruction about 4.5 months ago.

I am very paranoid of hurting it again as my life style revolves around distance running, biking and every sport you can think of. I would even go out for runs at like 1AM iin 10 degree F Michigan winters if I hadn't burned enough energy throughout the day.

I'm just wondering how you're doing, how it happened, and what your ability is now. It's a very depressing injury and I can't imagine how you must feel.

Oh yea Full-time student looking to transfer to U of Michigan w/ no clue as to what my major is.

Very broke and I do not suggest getting a mustang at this age, really should be selling it to pay for school/bills.

i'm a software developer, been doing it for 20 years now.

not much time for fun these days, i have 2 kids. helping with homework and driving them around takes up most of my time outside of work.

having kids is great, i have no regrets at all, but i'll be very happy when i have some free time again.

playing soccer and tennis, and messing around with my car are my fun these days.

i hope to keep from doing that to myself, but i'm 45 and it is probably just a question of time. so far, so good though.

i heard that the reconstruction actually makes it stronger because of the way they reattach the ligaments ... yes/no?

I'm the IT Manager for a local carwash chain (Cloister Car Wash in case you heard of it). I'm a 23 year old bachelor with my own place, so I basically do bachelor things...

Freshman in mechanical engineering at Iowa State University.

At college I hang out with friends, my girlfriend, and work on the ISU solar car. When I am home, I do basically anything that suits my fancy. I live on a farm out in the middle of nowhere in Iowa, so I mean anything.

Often times I find myself shooting guns, hunting, fishing, camping, ect., working on the Stang (of course), and other random projects.

I'll be heading on over to the local machine shop in an hour or so to get a plug made for a hydraulic cylinder and then have it pressed in. Can anyone say CANNON!?!?

27 years old
went to college for 2 years for auto mechanics and did that full time from when i was 21 up until last july.
got out of automotive and just recently passed the series 7 exam (what a b-tch). for those not familiar with it, its the test u need to sell stocks, bonds, things of that nature. i need to pass one more test, series 63, which i have scheduled for monday. i have a job at a firm here on long island where me and my brother just started. a friend of mine from high school works there also. he's been a broker for a few years now and is doing real well, he's the one who convinced me to ditch the automotive career and get into the stocks.
for leisure i lift weights, play with the dog, hang with the girlfriend, and of course play with the cobra. dont drive it much, my daily driver is a 94 nissan altima with over 240,000 miles on it.

I'm a registered Sleep Disorders Technician. Basically I work midnights 6 nights a week watching people sleep. If you had insomnia, sleep apnea, or sleep walking I'd be the guy putting the wires on to monitor you. Its not the most exotic job, but I now make $21/hr and have great benefits. :nice:

Killer I've probably used some stuff that you sell. :nice:

I'm 24 and in my limited free time I hang with my awesome gf and try to enjoy being a homeowner. I just bought my first house about 2 months ago, so its pretty cool being able to play my music loud and have my own garage. I had been in apartments since I was 20, so its a nice change of pace.

I go to the drag strip & road course during the summer, go running, and mostly try to hang with my gf. In the winter I like snowboarding, and generally hibernating.

I think we met @ lapeer dragway last year. You had your acura and told me about the GTS. I had my white Cobra there. Remember?
I'm a parts manager @ a Chrysler Jeep dealer.
For fun, Hanging with the girlfriend and getting my house ready for her and her daughter to move in when school is over. And of course working on and racing the Cobra.

That's a sweet ring. You know where he got that at? I'm always looking for sublime apparel like that but it seems to be getting harder and harder to find.

I've been a BIG fan of them (too bad I wasn't old enough to ever see them in concert) as well as LBDAS. Saw them last year in concert, def. not Sublime but they still got a hint of that sound :nice:

Full time student at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Work at the University's farm management office for endowment farms around 20 hours a week on top of school. (I think I could be the only person who grew up on a farm on Stangnet.) Finishing up my senior year now in agribusiness and pending that I am excepted, I'll be going back for two more years to get my masters. Otherwise, it's off to the real world... which is actually quite frightening.

Painter by trade. I do houses and commercial stuff. Just got done painting 9 Papa John's stores, it would have been more (20 or so), but they can't tell which end to talk or sit on. I own my own business, started last July. Picking up work constantly:nice: got the first house of the season just today!

For fun: I dunno, anything car/tech related. I am a single parent so chilling with my son. I skateboard and shoot hoops and play football with him. Listen to music and that is bout it. Don't have much of a life outside of that :bang:

Nope! If you met me in person you'd never ever know that I grew up on a pretty big farm but I did. It was my grandfather's and we lived next door to him, right next to the barn. It was great now that I look back on it, I was driving at the age of 13 and shooting guns as soon as I could hold them to my shoulder. I used to ride my yamaha warrior for hours upon hours until I turned 16 and got into cars. I used to HATE bailing (sp) hay, but I learned my selling skills from the times we sold sweet corn on the side of the road! LOL!

That is awesome! My grandparents, now grandma, have acres outside of a lil town in north central kansas. I used to go out there all the time as a kid, and yeah, soon as I could my uncles and dad were having me shooting holes in things, fired a magnum with my uncles help holding it in 1st grade! I loved it, helped harvest <drove a combine when I was like a second grader? It was fun and wouldn't want it any other way. Glad I am not a kid now, the technology is cool now-a-days, but THOSE were the days!

I am now 28 been a mechanical engineer for almost 6 years. married, 15 mo old son and currently looking to buy a new house. In my "spare" time I spend time with the family, spend time on the house, maintaining my other 2 cars, and then if there is any time left I sleep and work on the mustang. One of the main things we are looking for in the new house is a garage so I can work on my mustang after my son is in bed. That will be very nice.

On a side note: this is a great thread... liking all the replies so far...
