afr 185's an a better cam to match your combo, 30lb injectors, longtubes and maybe a dyno tune.

I've seen 306's that made close to what your making with that 347 it's do able without switching to carb.

i bet you could push 400 out of a 347... the most important part of building a motor is selecting the cam that matches what your engine will put out (according to flow #'s and such) There are cams out there that you can buy, but nothing will be better than a custom ground. MY friend is running a sbc 355 (bored .030 over) na. with a cam that the machinest who put it together specd, and hes pushing 420hp on a 600cfm carb. So id think a 347 fulie could easily get there, and stomp on that 355.

Whats wrong with his cam? MM&FF did a cylinder head test with a 331 stroker, AFR 185 heads, XE274HR (just like his), and a performer Rpm intake with 650 carb and made 450 hp! they said the cam was perfect for the motor.....

i dont' think there is much diffrence between a 331 and 347.....

i have the same cam in mine also....but i haven't ran the motor yet...i have the EXACT COMBO listed above.........

P.S.-J dallen....hows that cam sound at idle??

I think your having fuel starvation... Did they do a sniffer test when you had your car dynoed?

Seems the easiest way would be to crank a little more nitrous in.

when was the last chip upgrade or re-burn? just wondering if its hindering performance more than helping. The chips are a funny thing and have to be pretty dead on to maximize performance.....ya know. You have a hell of a set-up, but your #'s look low to me, times as well as hp. Where the #'s documented on a dynojet or what?

I agree with the 185s and a custom cam with the 347 you need better flowing heads. 165s would be ideal on a na 302 but not on a 347.
