I know there were at least two companies talking about making one. Then I haven't heard anything about it. I would love to get rid of my ugly stock one.

TCI's just debuted at SEMA I believe. Not sure on B&M. There's a few threads on Brad's site about them.

A guy here locally has one that looks like a shifter off a 5 speed car. Leather boot, ball handle, the button is on the front down low. Kinda cool IMO.

OK, from what I have read on other forums it will be avail around 1/08/08. No price has been given yet. I also found the B&M quicksilver shifter and it does not appeal to me at all. I will try to put some pictures up here.

My thoughts exactly. Our stock plastic piece with the fricken seam along the top drives me nuts. The TCI is sick looking....I am not 100% satisfied with the scissors looking release lever and an anodized black model would look sick.

Well enjoy that on your 2001 Mustang but that wont work in an S197 and this is a 2005 Mustang forum you are on here.

The TCI shifter looks like a gawdy piece of crap. The only thing sick about it is the way you will feel after paying 325 dollars for it.

I know it’s a 2005+ forum, I was just showing an example of how they work. The answer to claytucc3 question is yes you can leave it in drive and it will shift just like it does now.

Before MBA Billet bit the dust, they made a fantastic push-down shifter knob for my Z28. I'd say this was the single most satisfying and effective mod I ever made to that car. You could stop and seamlessly shift into reverse and also use the box like a manual. Simple but effective:

They have these on a lot of ratchet style shifters. Most of the time it is just shaped lik a T. All you do is put your fingers in there and pull up, instead of pushing the buttons on the sides. If you ask me its a little to redundant and looks odd the way they have this one set up.
