I have a crate windsor motor in my 91LX and I am in the process of converting it from an auto to T5. I contacted the engine manufacturer and they said I need a zero, internal balance flywheel. Seems like most Windsor engines are external, 28oz am I correct?

Is 28oz different then zero? Where do I get a zero and internal balance flywheel that will mate with a standard T5 pressure plate? Just want to make sure I don't run into any fittment issues when I go to install this thing.

Is this a 5.0 or a 5.8(351W)?

First, who/what's the manufacturer and part # of the crate engine?

A zero balance rotating assembly is just that. No imbalance, so 28oz or 50oz will not work.

In most cases a Windsor refers to 351, but that's just where I'm from and may not apply to how anyone else describes a SBF.

early 302 (no HO) were 28 oz as well as all 351 (stock that is) Late model 302 (HO) are 50 oz imballance. External ballance.

U can have either of them machined for a zero (0) imballance. U just need to buy a flywheel (or have urs reballanced) and a ballancer for this application.

The crate engine builder balanced it to 0 balance. If you use a weighted flywheel that will throw it off balance. Stock 5.0 balance is 50. Actually if you're going to be running it at higher rpm 0 balance is better. Good thing you checked with your builder. Mike
