What exaust should I get for my 65 Ford Mustang? Im looking for a real badass kinda sound without any of that "raspy" ****. If you guys know of any tell me. All I keep hearing from people is to buy Flowmaster...maybe I should but first Ill ask you guys

Depending on how loud you want it, Flowmaster 40 series sound really good, but a little loud, 50 series sound good but not quite so loud.

Well,m what did you have for exhaust when you made the dyno pulls? I'd think you would be more concerned about the performance an maintaining every horse you have under the hood than the sound.

well,m I didnt have any exaust hooked up when I made those dyno pulls, and lets be honest who really needs every stink'n horse especially when the engine is 553 HP and exaust is only gonna make a differance anywere from 5-20 HP TOPS.

Cobra's have the sound they do from their different design. IMO your car would sound much better, you need to go to the 5.0 section and see some clips and pick out what you like best. They have a good collection of clips to look at.

The "m" was a typo. Sorry to have assumed that your engine builder had put exhaust on the car before dynoing it, but since you have yet to give any info on what went into the mill, or if you at least have headers or manifolds on the car the only thing we can do is guess. And if you still are dreaming of doing wheelstands in a convertable, non-tubbed, non full cage, pump gas car, then that 20HP (this guy is losing 28HP with tri-ys http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=597253) might make the difference. And afterall, the amount of times you have peppered sakeless references to your "553 HP" in your posts leads one to believe that you would want to maintain that number. Also, my previous post was directly relevant to your original question.

Take a look into borlas and spintechs. I have heard borlas in person and they sound amazing. haven't heard spintechs in person, but in the clips I've heard they sound awesome as well.

Nice job editing your post. Now it looks like I came off a little heavy-handed, but that's okay. I should know to use the quote feature in these cases. Live and learn.

its tempting to raise the flag at some of c'maro_killa's posts. You don't build a 553hp engine to put in an otherwise stock 65 vert, nor would you have a 553hp engine and not know what exhaust to use. Then again, most people with 553hp would give some specs of their build, instead of just bragging about their 553 hp. Almost forgot, to have 553hp, you must also know how to correctly spell EXHAUST.

I just checked my private messages. All's cool C'maro_Killa! Accepted!

That also explains the earlier EDIT. Good job, no hard feelings. I just make a point not to edit anything out of my posts that I have hindsight about, because it doesn't take away the fact that I posted it in the first place. I will EDIT in clarifications or show some humility though.

Now how about some engine photos?

That motor in my car would be a start.

Looks too clean....

Needs some grease on it.

*edit* I was going to comment on that BJ comment, but I can't be sure who's watching. They're out to get me, you know.

nothing personal c'maro_killa, there is a history here of people with imaginary builds and cars. Due to earlier lack of info, and the way you came across as an excited 15 year old, it was easy to begin to categorize you as a faker/dreamer.

Anyway, nice engine, and good luck with the car. If you want an exhaust that sounds like the newer cobra's there's nobody better to ask than the people who own them. Check out the SVT section here, or the 4.6 section, but do a search before asking, there are thousands of exhaust threads already. The mufflers will sound different on a beefed up pushrod engine, but the tone should still be similar, you should be able to find what you're looking for.
