i want to put some guages inside the car on the pillar. my question is for the boost-vac guage do i want a mechanical or electrical? which one is easier to hook up and more effective?
How much boost are you running and what's your setup? As far as guages get the mechanical vac/boost gauge, it's just as easy to hook up. The hardest part is getting the tube through the fire wall and up the pillar. Then, if I were you I'd look at getting the electric fuel pressure, and if you go 3 guage pillar, water temp, oil pressure, etc. Just my 2¢.
Either here or the corral there's a pretty good write up on how to install the boost guage. Do a search shouldn't be that hard to find. I assume you have a centri s/c?? I'd love to get a roots like the 98 motors have and push around 8 lbs. Damn hypereutectic pistons! Good luck. If you run into issues or have questions shoot me a pm.
