WHat happened to me last night ( It's tech, dont worry Joe)

So i was in a hurry last night right so i come into a corner doin about 25mph which would not have been an issue but i let the clutch out too fast in 2nd gear and the rear end bit and locked up for a split second..long enough to break traction on the rear wheels while there was all the weight on them..It started coming around so i stomped on it in second gear but it came all the way around..next thing i new i was looking at the sidewalk..I locked them up and slammed the curb and both wheels ended up about 3 feet up onto the sidewalk..Popped my right front tire..huge hole in the sidewall..I put my spare on and drove home and its pulling bad to the right..I know i now need and alignment..I was thinking if it stripped the tie-rod end then i will need new tie-rods but thats about it probably..? Right? Anybody else have any suggestions on what to look for once i jack it up?


P.S. Watch out for curbs

Look for any obvious damage, and get it in for an alignment ASAP. You won't know what else got tweaked until they can get it on the alignment rack.

I'm guessing the engine braking the rear wheels caused that to happen. You basically did the equivalent of pulling the hand brake in a turn...but in a manner that provides you much less control. Also, you shouldent have tried to power out because that will make things even worse. your best bet would have been to press the clutch again and try and regain control w/o touching the gas or brake. Well.. now that I am done critiquing your driving...check your tie rods yes, but also the control arms, shock mounts, spindles, ball joints etc. If that stuff looks somewhat ok then fix whatevers broken and try to get an alignment. Some stuff may be slightly bent and you may not know until you try to get an alignment and they tell you they cant do it. This may turn out somewhat inexpensive or it could be very expensive...you wont know until you try to get an alignment since you cant tell visually if things are bent slightly (basically not much but enough to not allow a proper alignment).
