What I need to swap 94-95 Cobra motor into my 94 GT

I just find that my pistons and rings and who know what else is bad in my 94 Stang GT
Did anybody know what I need to swap one 94-95 Cobra motor on my Stang 5 speed
I was thinkin why buy use 94-95 GT motor whan I could bought used 94-95 Cobra one for just little bit more money

I think if you just get an MAF calibrated for 24lb injectors, the Cobra motor will drop right in with the stock GT ECU unless there is a pin mismatch in the harness. In that case, you'd have to get the Cobra ECU as well but then you could keep your stock MAF.

You will just need to get the MAF like said before. Unless you get the ecu also then you dont have to worry about it.

How good of a deal can you get on the 94-95 Cobra motor? I would say unless you can get a real great deal on one, it would pay instead just to build a new motor.

Unless you can get a Cobra motor for less that $1,000 it would probably be more sensible to build a fresh one.

I wouldn't bother with the swap, as you are only talking 215 hp vs. 240 hp if it's stock. Depending on what your plans on for your car you'll more than likely upgrade the Cobra pieces anyways.

Ernie, why don't you just rebuild your motor? Or you could buy a 331 short block and put whatever heads and cam in you want. It really isn't *that* expensive.

I know what it like to be in your position...I blew one up last year round this time...sucks...Look around the classifieds, I bought Jesse's longblock for 400.00....sold 1/2 that 400.00 in parts i didn't need....theres plenty of people parting em out between our Trader and Corral's you'll find something...chit most stuff i see is from around your area...

Sounds a bit overpriced... MPS has 87-93 complete HO 302s for $600 (94-95 HO with the bent-up intake is $100 more), and Midwest Mustang (they're good, I've bought about $300 worth of Mustang stuff from them so far and it's all been perfect) is selling an Explorer GT-40P heads longblock on eBay for $650 (doesn't come with the Explorer GT-40 intake, though).

But... if the pistons and the rings are the only problems you're having, shouldn't you be looking at shortblocks? They're quite a bit cheaper, and it should fix the problem.

In the off-chance that you do want to get a Cobra 302, keep your HO camshaft... it's actually better than the Cobra's.

P.S. This is assuming that $850 engine is a stock 302... if it's got a decent H/C/I buildup, then by all means, get it... or give me their phone #.
