What if you never changed differential fluid for the life of the car?

Hey guys, i was just curious, what would happen if you never changed differential fluid for the life of the car? What would happen? Also, why isnt changing diff fluid or changing the fluid in a manual transmission on the schedual of regular maintanence by ford?

In my owners manual for my '03, the manual tranny fluid should be changed at 60K while the rear diff is good til 150K miles.

I wouldn';t wait that long though

Yeah depending on

A) How hard you drive
B) How many Miles you drive
C) How long you own the vehicle

I would be changing it. Personaly I do it in a mustang once every season, this ensures a longer life for all the clutch packs in you trac loc also en sures that your seals are properly lubricated as long as you have the proper addatives

in my torino it has been in there since hmmmm i think it was new when it was put in. in 1968

nope it doesnt have posi and i havent changed gears i think if it breaks it will be a sign to upgrade.
