I've been in the Mustang game for quite a while. But I was on my way to work yesterday and i ran up on Fox Body mustang. It was i'm guessing around an 84-87. It had the 4 head lights, not the one piece that's on my 89. I'm familiar with the LXs and GTs, but when i started looking, it had GLX. I was like, WTF. So I got up a little closer, almost hitting the guy, probably pissed him off too...

I was looking to see if it was a typo or maybe something he put there himself, but it was an official badge. So my question is what is a GLX and what year were they made and why are they different than a regular LX???

We had a GLX in our garage as a parts car... I think it was an 85 or 86. It's sold now though so I don't remember exactly

me too strype lol

in 1983 they didn't have the 5.0 in the glx i believe. in 84 they put a 5.0 on it. all glx mustangs where auto though

and i think 84 was the last year for the glx with 83 being the first

It doesn't stand for anything really. Some same it means "Luxury" and that may be true for earlier models with their chrome trim and wood panels in the interior but in later models the GT's came with more standard "luxury" options and better seats than the LX.

I like to think of LX as meaning "Less eXtras"

LX is suppose to mean technically (this is coming from the ford rep) luxury.. GT is just suppose to be the sport version.. LX being the cruiser car.. which i can say i think its vice versa GTs (this is 87-93) seem to have less turbo cars or anything of that sort.. unlike the LX's which are turbod out the ass lol

You currently own one and therefore do not qualify to be a "Former Owner"

When you sell your hoopty I'll give you one too
