i have an 89 lx with mac shorty headers,off road h,fenderwell cool air intake,msd 6 ignition,underdrive pulleys and the rest of the motor is stock, basically bolt on stuff. but i was wondering what intake would you guys use if you had my setup? thanks in advance
With stock untouched heads I wouldn't even bother with an intake. Spend the money on something you'll actually get something out of, like rear gears, .
Actually the stock lower intake is one of the most restrictive pieces in the engine - doing something about that will make a difference even with stock heads. But I think your choice depends on what else you're gonna do later. If you're not going to change heads and cam later, I'd contact tmoss (here or at corral) and install one of his ported stock lower intakes. The stock upper flows reasonably well; his port job on the stock lower results in an upper/lower that flows almost as well as the Cobra/Gt40/Explorer units for MUCH less money. He has plenty of dyno data on the results you can expect. Pm him for more info.
i already have 3.55's but i think im gonna go with some 4.10s because i dont drive it that much and i dont go very far when i do. i think im gonna go with the cobra intake i heard that the gt40 was too much money spent for not enough performance
