What is my 02 gt suposed to idle at?

Well My 02 gt has been idlnig at 500 and when i aply the brakes the rpms drop to 400. When i first start it ir runs at 750-700 and it runs great, but then it warms up and then runs really bad when it runs at 500. What do you guys think is wrong? please help i need to get it fixed i am running really slow!!! i habve a 75,000 warranty so what ever it is its covered, thanks

should be around 700. the tach is prob off. look at the digital tach readout from the odometer and see what it reads

U could also need a new IAC already too

what was the idle at on the digital readout?? does the car just sputter down and then go back to normal after a bit? mine did that and it was the IAC. since ur under warrenty still, just go to the dealership and have them check it out

when i first start the car it is at around 750 rpm in driver.then it just falls to 500-550 in drive and most the time it drops to 400-450

Have you changed anything on the car? larger TB or added cold air? If so, this often times will require you to reset the base idle. Cars equipped with CAI will often idle lower due to cooler air.

nope the only thing i have is weld in flowmasters
