You are saying to disconnect the salt and pepper connections, then disconnect your smog equipment, and you will NOT have any codes thrown or a CEL. How do you plug them in "correctly" not to throw off codes or a CEL.

Ford did not recall the 10 pin connectors for your reason stated. Still waiting for you to explain what the original Ford harness "didn't read smog".

How many conectors do you have?? You should only have 2 not 4 connections delete the one set and plug the others back in

How does the original harness not read smog. You're making no sense.

The Ford recall added the extensions, it dd not remove them, The recall was not because they could not read smog- whataver that means. The recall was because Ford incorrectly thought the connectors were not long enough and that intermiitent contact of the wires caused a false CEL for the EVP or EGR. This was wrong. All it did was create 2 more connectors to cause problems. All that was needed was to clean and tighten the pins up and move the harness further down on the firewall, so most people removed the extensions.

I'd ask you what you thought the TAB and TAD sensors were and what codes you might get when you plugged off (or did away with) the the vacuum lines...or sensors themselves that previously went to the now absent diverter valves of your smog pump system....but I'd be afraid to blow your mind. That and I don't really have the time to wait for you to Google the answer and then incorrectly interpret it like you did the salt and pepper shakers. Nor have I the desire to watch you try to convince us all that you knew said information right off the top of your head, when its obvious you don't.

If you're trying to convince us that the car will run with the smog system removed, then save your cursive. We all know it will.....but you WILL trip error codes, you WILL produce dirtier emmisions that can and will lead to other issues, you WILL needlessly pollute the environment and piss off your fellow drivers and you WILL be doing it for no good reason.

And what difference does it make what his car runs?

Don't mean to come off so sternly with you, but you entered this thread with a "don't stink" attitude, provide incomplete and/or incorrect information and then lash out when someone with obvously more experience and expertise than you attempts to correct you on it. You kind of earn your stripes on thsi one.

Why would you intentionally vent a fuel tank line into a frame rail though?

The end of the line was laying where the canister once hung. There is a square little opening in the frame there. I stuck it in.

Well emmmm.... because you're venting fuel vapor into the frame rail from the engine bay?

Hell I dunno, mount a spark plug in there with a DO NOT PRESS button on the dash.

Kinda wondering why you deleted it at all? The canister is tucked down pretty low and out of the way. Not really an eye sore?

If your question is for me. I deleted it all because my car is nearly 28 years old and I no longer wanted it on my engine. LIke I mentioned before I deleted the canister because I needed to use that location to mount my Methanol/water injection reservoir. It needs to be located below the blower.

I originally had plans to relocate the canister in another location down there somewhere behind the scenes but haven't got around to it. Might put it inside the fender liner.

@Newbz347 I see your point on the vent line. Didn't think of that and I will remove it from the frame rail until I come up with a good plan on possibly reinstalling the canister somewhere. (just in case)

Yeah man, put a small filter or something on it and at least vent it outside of tbe engine bay until you can find a more permanent solution.

You don't want to vent uncontrolled into the intake.

Back in the 70s all cars just vented the tank. The key is venting it in such a way to prevent explosive vapor buikdup
