Hey fellow Stangers!!!!! I just got this awsome flowmaster exhaust system installed, but there is one problem....I am now getting this metal scratching sound from the exhaust, a sound that i never got before i had this system installed....It just sounds like either metal sheets scratching the ground or sheet metal rattling...I take a look under the car but there is nothing hanging or loose. I just cant seem to figure it out...Can anybody tell me what that sound might be....?? Thanks!!

I agree with SaleenGT2001. It happens to a lot of people.
Jack the car up, examine the route of the pipes. You will find metal touching metal somewhere. Usually where the pipes go over the rear axle. Loosen your clamps and make an adjustment.

loosen the exhaust itself, and move it to give yourself more clearance around your axles, or where you suspect it's hitting the body.

Question, does it sound like metal ringing more or less, a very high pitched sound? and also does it also only happen at peak drone time around 2k rpm?

well i just meant 2k becuase that is when there is the most vibration going on and therefore would be rattling your exhaust the most. i would check and make sure everything is snug first. I dont know where my sounds is coming from. It only does it in drive, not when revving in park. And when I let off the gas the sound goes away. so i dont think are problems are the same The Stang.

Mine a few back had the same noise. But wasnt hitting the axles. It was hitting the frame. A piece of my pipe was sitting about 1/4 from part of the frame and that was the problem.
