What is that?

Anyone know what the extra connection is for? This is a 65 Mustang Coupe 289. You can see in the pic the oil pressure switch has its wire. What is the other wire for?

I've not seen an extra wire down there before. If you disconnect your battery and put a DVOM on the two wires at the same time are they possibly the same thing? some sending units have a post and some a nail head. Maybe it's for either or.

That's what I thought....I snipped it off and used it for my temp sensor....just wondered what it was. Tks
