what is the best TURBO cam?

Lots of people make plenty of power with the stock cam. I think guys run stage 1's, F cams, and i cant really think of anything else. Custom is always a choice. But if i were to do it, i'd just throw a stocker then there with 1.7rr's and let her rip. U'll make plenty of power to split the block.

do any of you guys have any sugggestions for the best cam to run with a TT set-up?

You wanna give us a little more help? How much power do you want? What are your goals? Street car? Race car? How fast do you want it? When do you want the boost to kick in? How high are you gonna spin it? Do you want to stay hydro? Are you shooting for a dyno number or are you shooting for a quarter time? etc etc

Yep. in order for the money to be released by WIFEY for a DART block.. I have to walk in the house with a long face and throw my keys on the counter and say with tears streaming from my eyes. "I just blew my engine!!!"

So turning my block into a grenade, is not a big fear.. LOL But it should last awhile cause I won't beat on the car every day so I doupt if I will use all the HP very often...

I want to make about 500 RWHP with an AODE. So i guess that would be about 560 at the fly..

I don't know what kind of AOD you have, but a normal AOD has about 22 percent drivetrain loss, which would be more like 640 horse at the fly.

640 * .78 = 500.

You "could" stay with the stocker but I might look into something with a little more duration to take advantage of the turbos.

Damn is it that much? I have a custom AODE that I have to rebuilt after 5+ years of hammering on with my Hammer shifter. Well that's disappointing, cause i was hoping for about 500 to the wheels..

Yea i was gonna say the number u gave doesnt even hold up to a manual with 15% loss....

yea that what i was thinking with the cam.. like maybe an F-Cam or a Comp cam 274.. i heard the stock cam was good but if there is something better why not go with it..

The 274 is a nice cam. There was a 331 build up a while back in one of the mags (I'll find the article when I get home) of a turbo setup. The author made some pretty sick power.

The thing I'd worry about is the 110 LSA. You're gonna have to tune it dead nuts to get our picky EEC to accept it.

Furthermore, the best cam for stock heads is the stock cam. Like nmcgrawj said, toss some 1.7s and have at it. I'd only change the cam if you are also changing the heads.

And please don't buy a 1960's technology alphabet cam!

The best cam is one designed for your setup.

With a turbo, you may want to go with a split duration cam that favors the intake duration alittle and keep your LSA around 114 depending on your lift. You want to keep your overlap DOWN, so if you go higher lift, you will want to go alittle higher on the LSA. You kinda want the overlap to be less than 10° which is WAY off from an N/A cam (i.e. my cam has an overlpa of 50°).
