i have a 94-95 v-6 body. have a 95 cobra 5.0 engine and cobra 5 speed trans. the car still unfortionatly has the stock v-6 suspension. what is the cheapest way to lower the car. i dont care too much about comfort. i want it slammed.

listen man...heres what i didon my 95 gt....do the back springs first....trust me cause the back is higher than the front stock...........

1)take out rear springs, and mark one w/ a piece of tape to kno which is right and which is left.....
2)put them next to each other so when lookin at both they look symmetrical.....then make a mark on both springs in the same place.....DO NOT GO CRAZY WITH THE CUTTING.....DO A LITTLE BIT AT A TIME......1/2 COIL AT MOST AT A TIME......U CAN ALWAYS DO MORE
3)use an air cutoff wheel and cut the springs in the marked places and then file them off when finished
4)put them in the car and make any more adjustments u feel necessary
5)do same on front but go even less with the cutting at a time cause the front ones r where the car would bottom out so BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!

what he said is the cheapest, (pretty much free) but i wouldnt do it personally. on ebay you can get some springs (made by dropzone or somethiung) dirt cheap, but i wouldnt do that either. but, if you want the car slammed and comfort and handling are NOT an issue, go with cutting or el cheapo springs

I got the "el cheapo" springs off of ebay. They're Maxspeed springs or something similar. They're okay. A little stiffer than stock, but the biggest thing with handling is the shocks and struts. The springs just keep the car in the air. The shocks are where you shouldnt go cheap.

FMS C-springs.....$110 bucks....can't beat it!! And they handle good.

Go with the C springs, good springs for the price. And dont cut them even tho it may be free cause your car will ride like s*** and you will end up hating it even tho it may look the best. Also very bad perfornamce wise.

I put in a set of fms b springs in my 99 gt and it didnt lower it enough for me so i took the stock springs and cut 1 coil in the front and it lowered an inch, right where i wanted it. The car rides just like stock.

get 4 of your metabolically-challenged friends to ride around with you. it will probably cost you a few bucks in drive-through costs, but it is the cheapest way to slam the car.

Best thing I can think of isn't cutting, but instead heating up some cheap aftermarkets....I did that with my Eibach's, and it still rides alright.

Yes, these are the best deal going.

Match them up with some el cheapo KYB GR-2 struts ($60 ea) and KYB shocks ($60 ea) and you're car will handle noticeably better; as well as look cooler.

I run Eibach springs because my car came with them, if I had to buy my own I'd go with the FMS Cs.

get fox rears and cut 1 coil

get fox 4 cylinders and toss them in the front

you will have a good drag setup

Theyre both about 1 1/8 inch and 3/4 inch drop, but they have different weight ratings I believe.. I'd go with some Eibach sportlines myself.. 2" drop, which is about the biggest drop you can get from just springs - they run about $180

Do not cut your springs. Go with the FMS c's or get some cheap springs off ebay. You will be pissed at yourself if you cut your stock springs. The ride quality will suck bad, and the handling will be ok at best.
