I'm about to buy a 98 gt, and need to know what the stock in these things? i currently own a 88 five-o. So all this modular stuff is new to me. I was assuming that it was a 3:27 but i did the driveshaft turn trick and it turned just about 3 times. With a 3:27 should it turn about 3 1/4 times? O yeaH duh its a 5-speed

It should be a 3.27...I know they come with 3.27's...I'm just not sure if it was an option or standard.

2.73 is the standard gear for manual trannys. 3.27s were optional. check the tag on teh diff to see which it has.

3.08 was the auto gear

Tag on the rearend as mentioned before is the key to telling what you got. Providing no one has changed them before. The tag is sort of confusing to read, it has numbers and letters in it. Just pay attention to the numbers and you should be able to figure out your gears. FYI to get a 3.27 gear in a M/T coupe you had to get the premium (17") wheels option, unless you special order. At least for 96-98.

Yep.. 3.08s for the auto, with the standard being 2.73s with an upgradeable 3.27s
