I ran across a '67 coupe today that is for sale. Here's the goods:

- 75K original miles
- Factory A/C
- C-code drive train (289/C4)
- Center console
- No rust except for minor surface rust in the door jamb
- New brakes
- No accidents, no body damage except for a few door dings
- Runs good (needs some carb work)
- Small tear in driver's seat, but otherwise good interior condition
- Power steering pump shot

So what would you pay for it?

The guy is asking 10K - I think it's worth about 7K. The interior is in great shape, but the best feature is the fact that it's a rust free, Arizona car. It still has some factory tags on suspension parts.

The NADA guidelines put it right about 7-8K

Does that sound about right?

Thanks for the replies

Is it the pump that's shot? The lines seem to be looped back to bypass the ram.

$10K is too much.

That's a good point Krash - I didn't look that closely. I'll double check it on Saturday when I go look at it a gain. 10K is way too much, I agree...and if the PS Ram is bad or the control valve it's going to be worth even less!

Don't use NADA for anything, unless you are the seller. It's worth the going rate for that car in that condition in your area, not what NADA says. NADA is wildly inflated - I chuckle every time I see a classic ad and read, "NADA says....."

Definitely go with Norris:

"Someone once tried to tell Chuck Norris that roundhouse kicks aren't the best way to kick someone. This has been recorded by historians as the worst mistake anyone has ever made."

Thanks for the input guys. I'll offer the dude 5K and see what happens
