What is this bar for?

yeah from what i see its the front part of teh car basically....1 important thing i seen in the pic is it holds your hood latch in place..now where would u put that if u didnt have it...and unless u want to eat a nice 302 if god forbid u ever get into a front end collision i say keep it...plus liek said b4 its basically teh front of your Car

If you are refering to the bar with a tab bolted to the rad support, it is the PS cooler. It's actually a tube that PS fluid runs through. It goes through the rad support inthe bottom corner and connects to a hoes the the PS pump.

Mav, based on your other thread, i think Myke hit it on the head. and he is right on (Mav's P.S. stuff was a mess from the previous owner). the world's most effective p.s cooler. LOL

I dunno why you couldn't it does a pretty piss poor job I bet, though the only con of cousre is your tranny fluid becoming to hot, which just like an Auto tranny will kill your seals in the power steering system.

Perky did you just block them off or did you just run a small line from the inlet to the outlet?

There is a line running into the cooler.. I just removed it and connected it to the line at the pump which is where the cooler would have ran to...

You have to continue the loop... Can not just block off..
