Stupid question but what is this white piece at the right bottom part of the gauge cluster? Is it a connector, if so is it connected to a harness?

Also is this plastic piece mandatory for the cluster to work properly?

You dont need to plug it in.. the cluster will work fine without it.

The gauge itself could be shot.

I miss the "extra warning gauges" that my 88 GT had. Wasn't one of them low washer fluid??? I can't remember, been too many years.

I had some issues with my cluster, I was able to piece another one together from a couple of broken ones. Also, I believe that you can buy one on latemodel that is white and completely re calibrated and rebuilt.
