What is this sensor? Trans leak.

Hello, My wife has an '01 Mustang Gt automatic (4r70w). Can anybody tell me what the sensor is that is located on the passenger side of the trans toward the rear, that goes down from the top. It is mounted vertically, and has a white plug going to it. It is above the trans pan towards the rear. I have a leak, and I think it is coming from there. How does it come out? Thanks.

I think I know what your talking about and its not a sensor but a "Bulkhead Connector" which does go thru the trans and has an O-ring on it, it then goes into the trans and mates-up wth another connector that goes to the convertor & shift solenoids.
the 0-ring is servicable and the part # is F2VY-7Z276-A

It is a bulkhead connector. I was able to find it with the number you gave me. Do you know how to remove it to change the o-ring? It would have to come out the bottom, correct? If I remove the valve body to get to it, is anything going to fall out that I need to watch for?

Thanks a lot for all the help!
