I got a mustang GT 1996 v8 and i think it's stock besides the cold air intake i put in. My question is, i have a open space under my headlight switch. it's about 3 inches long, looks like a chip was in there but now it's open.

I think that's for the rear window defroster. They moved it down by the shifter in '01 or '02.

I can't go out and look at my car right now but isn't that where the "rear window defogger" switch is located? I think it's about 3 inches wide and about a 1/4" high. That's if my memory serves me correctly. (I haven't used my defogger in five years)

Who takes out the defroster switch? You can pick up a shiny one from UPR though

you can, but you are also going to need the module from the actual defogger...you can't just get the switch from upr...I did the same thing...module is about 3" by 6" or so...then when you actually push it in, the light will come on...you can get them at any junkyard, easy to take off and put back on...
