What Is This Used For?

If I remember right... It's a standoff bracket that goes from the back of the intake (upper plenum) to the rear of the block. I have one of those rolling around in my tool box too. Not having it installed causes no ill effects.

Yep. :stupid: They are to keep the intake from blowing off incase of major engine failure or front end collision in which can make the upper intake fly out from under the hood and into your lap. :nice:
Ok, thanks. Thats what I was trying to understand, I figured it would have to be used for something like that but I figured what the hell, I would ask to be sure. Thanks guys.

Man if I leave that off I will gain at least .1-.2 in the 1320 from the weight savings. :rlaugh:  :nonono:

that would suck for someone.. be like a perfect finish where you cant tell by eye who won.. .0002 seconds diff and you won.. the only reason you won was bc you left the bracket off :p and the other guys smackin his mechanic upside the head telling him what a retard he is for putting it on :D lol

Yep.... that's the first thing I'm going to check the other driver for if I beat him by a split second.

lol you could charge some guy 100 bucks for weight reduction.. warn him its not the most practical :D but wins the race.. take a hammer and knock the crap out the bar.. and the take a chain and attach it to his dash.. then to the back of a truck and take off really fast! lol
