Ok guys I just got back from college a couple days ago for spring break and i've been dying to drive my car. It's a nice night out and i decided to head down to stanford to visit some friends at college. I was on this dark road and decided to test out the new nittos i just got. When i hit it in first and went to shift into second, the shifter was stuck and would not move at all. I slowed down and moved to the side of the road and tried turning my car off and then back on again. It would start in neutral but when i put the clutch in to put it in first it would not budge no matter how hard I tried. And if i tried to start it in gear it would jolt forward and all my accesories would dim and it would not start. I had to call a tow truck and I'm confused as to what the problem might be. Could it be my clutch? I put in a king cobra recently so I'm not sure. Any help as to what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated!!! I'm so pissed right now!!!

sounds like the clutch linkage came off the release fork.............or the clutch pedal.

See I was thinking it was the clutch cable but couldn't see 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me' it was so dark. I asked the guys at the shop it was towed to and they said it was fine and that i needed a new clutch kit but they were probably out to make a buck. I towed it to my buddies shop and he's looking at it right now. It almost felt like me pushing the pedal down had no effect at all. Do any of you know how much this may cost me to fix?? I've never had to replace one and have no clue. Aren't the adjustable cables from steeda like a hundred something? Either way this is sounding like it may be way cheaper than the 1000 quoted for a new kit, flywheel, and labor.

yeah like I said before, your cable either broke, or more then likely since you just replaced the clutch, the cable probably came off the release fork.

Yea so it turns out its not the clutch cable, it's the actual clutch. The disc to be exact. I guess it's all messed up and needs to be replaced. I'm so pissed right now, my clutch should have lasted longer than this. Well I'm gonna get a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch put in today. It'll be 8 hundred for the kit, resurfac flywheel, new throwout bearing, and the install. Doesn't seem that bad to me I guess, and it will be ready by this afternoon for the weekend. AHHHH i'm so pissed.
