Alright well believe it or not Ive been working on this car about 4 times a week since I got it back. Making tons of progress but alot of it is not picture worthly whatsoever.

Anyways I got the rear suspension basically all in. I just have to put in my rear drag shocks and continue my hunt for a set of rear drag springs.



Heres a shot of the progress on the engine bay. Just in the process of smoothing and Im going to be welding up all of the holes shortly. Also I managed to beat the **** out of the strut tower to get the big booster to fit lol.




Obviously that hasnt even been sanded yet.

Don't put any more mud into the bay until you get all the holes you want welded up. I suspect the heat from welding will pop a lot of that mud loose. Also, don't forget to grind the back sides smooth prior to mudding. I had some mud pop just by grinding on the opposite side. It's a piss off. BTW - looks awesome!

Strut towers are already welded. I originally wasnt going to fill all the holes but I changed my mind after I got that far...So now its welding time.


Yes my upper control arms are boxed lol I figured why the hell not. If you look closely too the upper mounts are all stitch welded.

As far as the brake lines fo in the back. I have the calipers and stainless lines off an 03 cobra so I will be using those. Im gonna somehow get this to work lol.

Test fitting the wheels and tires (275/40/17). Super close fit but I think they are gonna clear everywhere just fine. No springs in yet but they are on the way.

I am picking up a ton of parts tomorrow and Im unemployed as of next week (uhoh) so I will be getting alot done.

The tank is a new tank coated with POR and then over top I have put a special high density foam to protect it from when it rubs the chassis. This foam wont hold moisture and was only 60 cents a square foot! The filler neck grommet is a new piece from 50resto and is pretty good and I grabbed a bunch of new fuel line as well. The tank cover is from glens performance and its pretty nice, it had a couple scuffs on it in the box though. I still have to clean it up. I also grabbed the tank straps from glens performance, they are the aluminum ones and are pretty good quality.






I JUST won my ebay auction for a set of rear eibach drag launch springs so as soon as those show up my rear suspension will be entirely complete! Now that my fuel system is done too I only have the front suspension, brakes (which I already have) and engine to finish up.

I degreased and painted the tranny today and it took me the better part of 4 hours. I decided to throw it in now instead of with the motor. I dont have the space or height required to put the motor in with the tranny because of the crazy angle required to get it to fit. Also, last time I did it that way I gouged my firewall pretty bad so I would like to avoid that.




I was going to polish my driveshaft as well but I had no polish left, which is probably a good thing because I have to draw the line somewhere.


Heres my manual rack that I sanded and primed. I had to remove the bushings as well, I am going to order a set of outer tie rods for it soon. Im making life hard for myself though because Im running 245/45/17 Nitto 555s in the front so slow speed steering is going to suck.
