hey guys, this is probably a stupid question but what kind of cam should i be using, im trying to get my brother a cam for his 95 gt. Im more of the 4.6 guy myself. but I'm trying to get the best cam for a 350hp application, more than likely we are gonna swap the heads for the GT-40's.. and if its possible i would like to get one with a little bit of noticeable lump to it. And also what kind of cam is the stock one?? flat tappet??
thanks guys!

stock is hydraulic roller. you won't get 350rwhp with gt40s without a power adder or stroking. I would say if you want something with a nice lope and a fairly easy tune go with the tried and true F303. Its what i had(and have for sale :) ) and it had a nice lope to it and made decent power

I have also read good things about the Steeda #19 cam. If anybody wants to back me up or shoot me down on that one, feel free. But probably your best bet would to just go with a custom grind.

You won't get 350hp with GT40 heads. I don't know if you are wanting 350hp at the wheels, but to get those numbers you will need to get much better heads, a blower, or stroker. GT40's with a mild cam will get you about 250hp at the wheels.

Ill do both

Steeda 19 is great from about 2800-redline, seriously when you hit ~2700 or 2800 the cam just comes on like you are hitting a switch or something, im not sure how well it would do in trying to obtain 350 rwhp N/A because of its relatively mild specs. The main reason most buy it is for its wide lobe seperation which doesnt cause driveability problems with the stock EEC. The lope sound is alright, but it doesnt sound like an E cam or a TFS 1 because of its wide LSA; but it has enough lope that you can tell there is one there. That being said it would be a great cam for a mild GT-40 setup with an auto tranny.

F303 or the Crane 2031 it has a great mid range power and a very noticeable lope to it. My car also ran pretty damn good before i got my tweecer because of its 112lsa.
i agree. i have the 2031 and had decent idle before tune

power is also very good  even with stock gears

yea i was actually thinkin today, once i get the money which should be soon, i think im going to do a 331, or 347 stroker... i know probe makes the stroker kits, are they as good as some say they are?? And at that point, with more than likely stock heads just mildly ported i suppose could i still use these cams u guys are talking about?? thanks guys
