So, I'm fixing all the leaks on my Chebby Cumaro (so I can sell it and finish the foxbody) and I have the intake off, and I heard that the heads were ported. Well, what kind of port job is this? Looks like someone took a die grinder and hit the out side of the ports. The sad part is the previous owner paid a lot of money for this port job. The exause side was never touched. Stock LT1 heads flow 212cfm on the intake side, so I guess these flow 214.

This is the very reason you should learn how to work on your car without a "professional." Sorry about homeskillets luck, but that is a ****tastic port job.

looks like the ports were just tapered for a gasket match. Was the intake ported at all, if so some guys will taper the inlet of the ports just so that there is not an uneven lip that will slow down the air flow. Ive seen it done a few times before and had to do it myself. I bought my intake used and the lower was already gasket matched, but a full porting was done to the lower. When I bought rebuilt stock heads the intake ports were already tapered to the gasket. When I buy aluminum heads they will be matched up also.

No, the intake was not ported. The former owner payed over a grand to have them ported. Pretty sad I say.
