Honestly, my stock one is close enough that I just go off of that. I do have a shift light that takes pills. I usually just leave the 5800 rpm pill in at all times. Only time I'd ever really be referencing the tach is when my shift light goes off anyway.

I've been looking at the gtech pro egs tach. That way I can have my wideband read out there with out having to add another gauge. Can't find a picture, but here's a link. http://www.gtechpro.com/egs.html

Had a 5" but felt it was too big and ditched it. I'd prob get a 3" if i decided to put a tach in again

I know this is off topic but I remember seeing Aluminum Bezel Rings several years back that were angled and thus you could set your gauges more to the drivers sight, I wish I could find them again.

Stock tach with a shift light is the cleanest way to go imo.

My stock one for now and it isn't even close to being accurate.

I know at 6000 RPM, the tach reads 6900-7000. It is fun however to shift a stock cammed car at 6500 RPM !!!

I have a 2 - 5/8" Autometer Tach above the oil pressure guage in the piller pod.

Not too intrusive, and very easy to glance at

I've got the typical Autometer Autogage 5'', but i took the sleeper route and mounted the tach itself under the passenger side dash and put the shift light on the column...i really like it because i don't like things in my line of sight while i'm driving, so on top of the dash is no good for me (plus it draws more attention from the po po lol).

It's a really old pic but the tach is still in the same place.

That's weird that it went out from vibration...i've had mine for 3 years or so and my car vibrates like crazy. You might have gotten a defect or something.
