What kind of thermostat?

When I replace the thermostat in my car, what temperature rating should I buy?
Also, if I remember right, I think there is a particular brand of coolant that I should steer clear of. What is it?

People have terrific luck with a 180. Don't go any lower.

I use Prestone, but I don't think any brand name coolant will let you down.

Thanks guys, for the info. After reading the info posted by Kilgore, I think it was the orange dex-cool that I heard you should avoid using. Seems to me several people claim it gunks up you coolant system.

I used the Redline Water Wetter also when I flushed mine, seems to help...
