What kinda hp you think my engine is putting out?
96 explorer bottom end
gt40p heads
gt40 intake
edelbrock 65mm tb
mac shorties (uneqal)
offroad X
mac catback.
I have to check if its got the h.o. cam, but assuming it does, what kinda power should this be pumping? and what about rwhp, its a 5speed, with an alum ds, and 3.08 gears.

260 at the wheels would be my guesstimate....

Just under 300 at the crank is what my crystal ball tells me.

Ok, I was thinkin 290 on a good day, so I guess I made a pretty good guess. Do you think with long tubes, some ignition work, and a good tune I could hit the big 300?

w/longtubes I'd say you'd be very close to 300, if not slighly over.

oh yea and Im gonna be gettin a k&n and takin out the air silencer.

If you used a stock explorer bottom end then you probably have the explorer cam. Hopefully you have the h.o. though.

The whole setup came in the car. The guy I bought it from didnt know much about it, but it was built in a shop not far from me. Im gonna try to get in touch with them and see what cam its got. If it does have the h.o. cam Im gonna leave it, if not then I gonna put in somethin a little hotter, but nothin wild.

230 maybe at the wheels, stock ingintioin system is MORE than adequate for mild mod cars..I run stock with no issues. Most likely it has the Explorer cam in it..you should consider a swap to a stocker or mild upgrade.

Not to steal the thread but what is the explorer high torque made for? I can get a brand new one for fifty bucks, it came out of a new crate motor. Anybody got any specs on it like the rpm range and if its speed density compatible? Thanks BTW i say high 200 rwhp too.
