what kinda power can a t 5 hold

I've put plenty of 10 & 11 second passes on stock T-5s. Someone once told me that it isn't hp and powershifting that kills T-5s, it's when you MISS a gear... Who knows if that's true? Mechanically speaking it makes sense that the heavier the car is and the harder it hooks leaving the line, that would put more strain on the transmission... but they don't usually break output shafts and stuff like that. They usually lose teeth on the speed gears and countershaft cluster gear. Those are telltale signs of a missed shift. I never broke a T-5 in my 10 or 11 second cars, but I never missed any gears in those cars either. So there's my $.02.

Sharad that's exactly what i've always been told...missing shifts is what kills transmissions, aside from all out brutal power grenading things. Most of the time you just lose a gear, and that's usually from a missed shift sheering off gear teeth. If you make so much power that you're snapping shafts, then you should know better than to even try a T5.
