I have a 2002 Mustang GT (check out specs below). I plan to add a vortech supercharger in the near future. What performance mods can I add in the meantime? I don't want to impact the new supercharger or remove these mods later. Thanks!

since you are going centrifugal, go with a bullit intake, exhaust and gears. that should set you up good for the blower. Good luck!

oops. see you already have the exhaust and gears......forgot to read your sig! :damnit: In that case, bullitt intake, and suspension mods are a must. My stock clutch held up fine @ 31,000 miles with the KB on it pushing 420rwtq @ 2000 RPM, so you should be ok there for awhile.

The eibach springs will give the car a nice stance.I would also install subframe connectors and a good set of lower control arms

As csledd asked above, how much boost are you planning on running ? If you're planning on running anymore than 7 or 8psi intercooled, I'de look into getting some forged internals, cause the stock hyperreutechtic parts won't hold up under that kind of boost.

Computer: Following the installation of a sueprcharger, you're going to need to get a good dyno tune in order to ensure everything is running as it should be.

Headers: I recommend JBA short tube headers, unless if you want to purchase or modify your current mid-pipe for long tubes.

Intake: If you can afford it, I would upgrade to a nice full aluminum aftermarket intake, like the Bullit or P-51 intake. Though either of these with the installation kit is going to run over 1,000 dollars brand new. If you want a cheaper mod that will give decent power for the intake, a 75mm plenum and matching 75mm throttle body is a good way to go.

Ignition: Start running colder plugs. This will work well with the supercharger.

Suspension: Sub-frame connectors & good lower control arms as 32v svt suggested above are a good idea. UPR products, Steeda, Maximum Motorsports, Griggs, Metco, and Holcomb motorsports are some good companies for aftermarket suspension setups.

Drivetrain: Stronger clutch, lightweight flywheel and a strong rear end would be a good idea to invest in. I recommend upgrading to a 31 spline setup. An aluminum driveshaft w/ safety loop wouldn't be a bad idea at this point either.

Tires: If you're planning on doing any street racing, you'll probably need some drag radials. If you're just going to run her at a track, some 15in racing wheels and slicks for the rear would be a good investment. Might want to step it up to a 28in tire on the rear with those 4.10's and a supercharger, or else you'll probably run out of gear.

Some other mods to consider are cams, cylinder head porting, brakes and front suspension.

what is your HP goal? if you aren't going for top HP, get a Dragon plenum instead of the Bullit intake. and you won't need forged internals for less than 400rwhp. you will however, need a good rear suspension and tires for the 4.10's and a blower.

Like stated previously, these will give your car a nice stance, but remember you can either have a great stance, or a car the jumps out of the hole in a hurry. When playing with your suspension like that, 9/10 times you're going to have to sacrifice one for the other.

It depends on what setup you want, drag or handling/sport.

I haven't thought about PSI mainly because I don't know much about it. I'll be happy to learn.

No particular Horsepower goal. The Vortech supercharger will give me about 104 ponies and the aftercooler some more. I'm ok with this. I want a fast street car.

I'm looking into the suspension and learning more about it. So far I'm considering upgrading to better springs, shocks, and sway bar.

Since handling is your goal, coil overs all the way around with road race shocks/struts would be your best bet. Add some subframe connectors and a good road race control arms on the rear. A panhard bar might help, but thats a bit extra money to spend. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend too.

An aftermarket dif, with 31 spline axels. Uppers, lowers, and M/T ET streets.
