Im Getting a 85 foxbody with t-tops with an auto tranny an i need new t-tops bad an weatherstripping but after i do that i want to get more power so if you guys could help me out b/c this is my first stang an dont want to mess it up..so what shall i do for the first performance mods?

I believe that is NOT an 8.8 rear end... But get gears anyway.

3.73 gears (most major/cheapest mod)

so your sayin to throw so 3.73 gears in it if i do what will the gears do for me "more tourqe?"

Correct me if i'm wrong.... but doesn't that have the "CFI" engine in it? Or was that '86? I know one of those years has the CFI. Cause i looked at one, and i'm not positive but its only on the autos i think.

the gears fill make it FEEL like you have more torque. Gears are always something good to get to really wake a car up

soooo how hard is it to put gears in on an auto, an i should go with a 3.73 right.
An its a EFI

3.73s should be fine.

85's were carb'd cars. Did the previous ower switch it to an EFI? If so, is it a Speed Density or Mass Air system? You'll want to convert it to Mass Air if it not already before you start modding the motor.

Oh, you'll also want to put a larger Torque Converter (2400Rpm stall should be good) and a Shift Kit (Transgo is recommended) in it to wake up that auto.

if your able to 5 speed...autos are boring...

You see im buyin it from this guy an he says its a 85 but yet its FI i dont get that
ethier so im guessin the guy did swap it
