What Nitrous Kit To Buy?

I am looking for a nitrous kit to buy. I want a wet kit for my 98 GT. I have really been looking into getting the NX wet EFI kit. You guys out there have any suggestions? Please post a link to an online store if you have one.

NX Ford EFI wet kit 100 shot max. w/ Gen II upgrade and a window switch, NGK TR6 plugs gapped @ .035" and you are set.

Nitrous Meets Predator

Yes, you can use the Predator with nitrous, you just have to take more timing off the engine. Perhaps the best way to do it is with a MSD digital ignition that pulls timing only when the nitrous system is activated. That way you can still run your advanced timing when not spraying. MSD's added spark power would be a good thing to have on a nitrous application anyway.

You dont really need a tune. Though I would just to be on the safe side. When I was looking a nitrous I was gonna get my car dyno tuned for the nitrous so it would be even safer

These 4.6's can handle 100k easily on a 100 shot wet kit with stock a tune. Just get the right plugs and a good setup with the safety measure and you will be fine.

I always advise getting a dyno tune when running nitrous, if you don't have anywhere around you that can do it, at least get the mail order tune.

Like I have said there are quite a few out there with 100k nitroused miles with no tune. Stay under a 100 shot you dont need it. That shot is safe enough to run on a stock tune and many have done it.

Bad idea!!!! Sure some people have gotten away with it, others haven't. The consequences far out way the inconvenience of getting it tuned.

X2.....I don't like the idea of running a wet kit with the stock plastic manifold in there.....especially the design that our modular manifolds have (that nice valley right in the center for the fuel to puddle. ) It's gonna cost a few dollars more, but the direct port kit that Kilgore suggested is going to be your safest bet, that also has the ability to make more horsepower than the wet set up later on.

I'm currently using the NX plate system with the progressive controller on my Stang, and I'm rather happy with it. It's not as nice as the direct port but it's alot cheaper. I have a customer wanting to buy it, and if so, I think I'll go back to the direct port system.

Not at all. Like I said there are plenty who have 50k, 75k and over 100k on their 2V motors using nitrous. You stay under a 100 shot, you do not need a tune period!! Will one be beneficial? Yeah it could, but it's not needed. The tune itself wont be the factor that saves the motor from any damage. I have seen tuned motors blow up on nitrous.

I wont even reply after this because I have seen it and done it enough times that frankly I could give a ***** less to even argue with someone about it anymore. In fact I won't even offer anymore tech on Nitrous. I had no issues with it on my other car with no tune, and doing it again on this one.

If you were one of my customers and refused to get a tune after a nitrous install, you wouldn't be getting any warranty either. And yes the tune itself can be the factor that saves the engine. I can't even begin to list the number of times I've seen people throw on a nitrous kit without being aware that they are already running lean. Great for business, bad for the guy that has to write the cheque for the new engine. Also gives nitrous a bad name.

only problem is I dont see a way to sneak that one past the competition after a hood pop.

Its true a tune won't help the NOS puddling in your intake but it sure as hell helps by keeping your A/F ratio from going wack. I was in a crazy incident when two friends of mine were racing on a major highway. I was in my friends dakota that had NOS in it. They lined up at the last stop light before a long stetch of highway. The light turned green and they took off we got up to about 60 and bomb the engine blew because his air fuel went carzy for the last time. It stoped right on the highway while cars are comming towards us at 60+ mph and his engines on fire.

Moral of the story be safe and get a tune

No, that might be tough. Maybe if you covered it with enough grease and grime, the wouldn't notice?
