You've personally used all 3 handheld tuners? I don't know about the Diablo, but I have the Hypertech and the SC Microtuner and IMO...the SC doesn't even come close. Still haven't had a single person tell me that the SC tuning felt better in my car - they have *all* said "Wow" on the Hypertech though...

He probably is one of those who believes all the hype... Gotta love all these "experts" that haven't actually tried the products they slam... it's such Too bad someone doesn't do an independent shootout of all the tuners.

This is my 1st Mustang, because I always had trucks and on the trucks...the Superchip and Diablo were highly preferred (at the F-150 forum I was at) for the 4.6 F-150s, while Hypertech and Jet were way down on the list for the trucks, but the very same people that liked the Superchip for the truck seemed to not like the Superchip at all for the Mustangs that they drove...or they had friends that used Superchip in their Mustangs and didn't like them. To me, the SC Microtuner felt "okay" in my Mustang, but the Hypertech just felt a whole lot better. I felt the difference, just like I felt a difference when I changed my gears. Superchip doesn't build junk, but IMO, others are better for the Mustang.

BTW...
Haven't used it (yet?), but I have a feeling that the Superchip Custom Tuner "lap top" Programmer is a whole different story. May look into that unit if I get more serious with my mods.

i've had my diablo for a while now and fully enjoy using it. there's a wide range of adjustments that can be made with it (go to features page on their site, no need to list we all know the deal on these things by now), uploading new tunes does not take a long time at all, and the data acquisition tool is pretty good.

It is not really live data like they make it sound. It is live recording of data, played back at a later date. So if you think you're popping open your laptop and going 'bleep bleep bloop im 2f2f' then you'll need the SCT or one of the other more expensive ones

I honestly don't think any of the 300-400$ tuners are going to be arms and legs better than the next one. So look at the feature lists from each site and make an excel sheet and see which one has the most your looking for. Just because I really like my Predator, and someone else loves their Hypertech, etc. really doesn't mean squat since you'll be the one pressing the buttons and watching it tick 1% 2% 3% 4% etc.. when you put that first tune in..

Great post, but I don't agree with your last "really doesn't mean squat" for the people that have actually bought more than one unit.

yeah figured someone would say that it's great everyone gives their opinions on the products they are using, not trying to curtail that at all.. but in the end a good majority of us will probably only buy one of the products, and see other products on friends cars, etc.. each unit has a feature or two that the other doesn't have, and the timing of each one coming out obviously will be a factor in which one people have.

my buddy has the SCT setup with the laptop and all the bells and whistles, and completely loves it. it was just out of my personal price range for my weekend cruiser.
