What shifter is in the Bullitt?

What are you looking for out of your shifter?

I guess I want a smoother shift, i'm getting tired of the notchy-ness/clunkyness. After going through the gears on a new bullitt it just felt a ton better. I'd like to find someone in my area with an MGW to see how it works first hand before I bite the bullet on a $300 shifter. I got a really smokin deal on my current tri-ax from a friend before he sold his car.

What's the matter with the Tri-Ax? They're the tits on the SN95 cars, are they not as good a shifter on the S197's?

The throw is fine, it just feels really.. I mean REALLY clunky. It's positive as hell though, you won't miss 3rd and you definitely know what gear you're in.

The MGW is what you need. The MGW is not clunky, notchy, etc like the Hurst. It's smooth, positive, and precise. It's not soft like the stock shifter though so don't expect that. It's adjustability is amazing and only makes a great shifter even better. Once you order the MGW and you started unpacking everything you'll understand why you paid so much for a shifter. I can bet on that.

Royal Purple Synchromax?

Also, the Bullitt has a ford shifter as far as I know. It has a different shift knob, and maybe the throw is slightly reduced from stock, but I dont believe it is anywhere near as short/precise as a hurst.

I'm going to search one out here locally, but it sounds like what I want though. I was reading on their site and the build quality looks top notch. They put a lot of though into the design.

Go with the MGW you will not be dissapointed. The Bullitt shifter is the same thing out of a regular GT that Hurst made some minor throw tweaks to. It is still a stamped piece of steel that eventually like the stock GT shifter will start feeling ruubery and loose. When I first got my car the shifter felt great but after driving it 5k it didn't feel the same. The MGW in my car is very smooth and precise. Not to mention you can adjust the handle height and location to fit you and also adjust the throw to your liking.
