A friend of mine gave me a B&M ripper shifter for t-5 and t-56 transmissions. however, the stock shifter knob will not fit, the threads on the shifter are huge. What knob will i need to fit on this shifter?

the shifter can not fit both a t5 and t56
are you sure its not t5 and t45
either way, the stock shifter knob should fit perfectly, the only shifter i know of that the stock knob doesnt fit is hurst

Measure the threads with a thread gauge and mic the handle and see what the diameter is. Or you could do like me and make you one.

I thought it was wierd that it said for both t-5 and t-56 as well, but i just checked the box again and thats what it said....guess ill have to measure the thread somehow, its definately way bigger than the stock threads

i had a b and m ripper and it was bigger than stock the only thing that actually threaded on was the threads on a b and m t handle the only other way i could get it was with the plastic sleeves that were universal

It is probably for the GM transmissions t5 and t56 in the camaro that came with a 15mm threading. if that is the case it wont fit a mustang. Mustang threading is 12mm by 1.75 pitch
