I am new to these forums and I am looking for a new shortblock to be able to handle 500 rwhp with relative ease and reliability under boost. What would you recommend to handle such power that is good quality and a reasonable price? Thanks

dss 331 low comp bullet motor, girdled of course.

yea yea....here come the "stock block can only handle 500hp" comments...But your only making 500hp for a short period of time within your rpm range, so as long as you dont race the $hit out of your motor, youll be fine. My ar gets driven a few times a week, open it up on the ighway a few times and tuck her away for the weekend...sorry had to preach

About 10psi. You need good h/c/i combo too in order to hit the 500 mark.

I just wouldnt trust a stock block with 500 rwhp. All those nice parts on a time bomb.

500 rwhp is attainable with a good tune on a boosted H/C/I car without much problem. I wouldnt trust it though on a stock block even with main support.

Your gonna be up there what does your fuel system have for upgrades? Thats a huge part. Make a whole list of everything, its easier that way.
