What should I do with my Turbo Mustang?

Ok guys, I own a 95' Turbocharged 5.0. A while back I took it to the dyno and the tranny imploded on itself... and it took the block down with it. The engine block has two fairly significant cracks in it, so it is shot.

Would anyone be willing to buy this Mustang? I want to get about $3500 out of it, but I'm not sure if anyone would pay that for a Stang that needs a tranny and a block. It would probably take a fair amount of money to get it running, but it has a very nice turbo setup, and a bunch of the best bolt-ons. Not to mention there is a Apexi AVCR boost controller in it.

Should I just put it in a garage somewhere till I have the money to fix it? Or do you think someone would buy it?

You could probably sell the turbo kit for ~$2500. I would just park the car, fix it up when you have money with stronger parts and crank up the boost.

If I had 3500 I'd buy it as a parts car at least. Of course the turbo kit would be transfered over too. But I think the only buyers you would have for it at that price would be someone like me who would love a parts car. Other than that, the junkard might give you less than $1000.

That sucks tho, I remember when you got that kit. You have the red hardtop right?

KEEP IT!! i would think that u could get more for that anyway. call up a junkyard to get a block. shouldn't cost u that much to get a block. i knew a guy who was sellin a .030 bored 351 block for $200. stuff is out there, u just need to look around. if u know how to do the stuff yourself, it won't cost u much. as for the tranny, rebuild it if u can. but definetly keep the car, if u decide to sell it, part it out.

So how much power did turbo kit make? I haven't talked to Brad in a while .... Were you happy with his work? How much boost does this kit make? Would you sell just the turbo kit?

The car is a Rio Red hardtop with cloth seats.

The guy dynoing the car let off around 4500 rpm... so the numbers were off i'm sure. Also, it was running 8psi with no tuning. It made 305rwhp and 432rwtq . I am pretty confident I could get the car up to 375rwhp with that combo and some tuning.

Brad's kit has worked very well so far, I have been very satisfied.

Oh... and rebuilding the tranny isn't an option, it is basically cracked in half.

The tranny isn't my concern, it is the engine block. I don't have the tools to do a swap by myself, so it would be pretty expensive.

dude, i don't know how far down towards indy you are, but my friends and i work on our cars in my buddies garage in dyer, IN. if you can get it here, we can help put a new motor in.... well, for a couple dinners anyways. I'll check with my friend if you want me to.

Oh, but i'll be pulling my own motor this summer, well, pulling it, installing a cam, port and polishing my heads and intake(i'm broke, as in 2 bucks for this weekend) and just looking over bearings etc., but that will be all done within 10 days. Anywho, just sayin that we will ahve practice in a couple months from now.

i would fix it, i bought my cobra tranny, used, and for a great price. You can get a block for around 100 buck from a boneyard. if you tore the motor down to the shortblock, you could rent an engine puller, ****** it out, return the puller so you only use it for about a day. Then rebuild the motor etc. whe nyou get finished, rent the thing again, and reinstall the rebuilt one etc. The tranny is an easy job. I have some spare parts, if you tell me what you need. including a mainshaft, and a few extra gears.
