Hi!

I have a stock '65 FB with a 200. Carb needs rebuilt so now is the time to go to a 2100. I have mild plans for the engine in the future (DUI, Headers) nothing to fancy. These items will not happen very soon.

I have the stock 3.20 rear end and a Dagenham.

I want to wake this car up off idle and at low-mid RPM. It seems to me the concensus is between these:

1.08
1.14
1.21

What are your thoughts/experiences? Any further ideas on a mild build? I can't go spending thousands of dollars on a ported head or anything like that!

Thanks!

p.s. My dad is the original owner. He sold it to me in 1996. I sold it in 2002. What an idiot!! regretted it ever since! I tracked it down and bought it back last month!!!!

Im runnin a Holley 2300 500cfm 2 barrel. I have a later model 250 head with a bigger log intake milled so that the carb sits flat on the intake using a small spacer. If you dont want to do all that, I have a 2 barrel to 1 barrel adapter that I ran for year with great success if you want it. Before I went turbo, i had the 2 barrel, dual out header, Duraspark ignition with MSD box and with that alone the car was alot of fun and thru dual Flowmaster 40s it sounded like a small block at idle and thru the gears!!!

I then took out the (broken) C4 and swapped in a T5 manual...best thing I ever did to the car if you ask me!

If you want more...well...Ill let the pics do the talkin :D

You have a really really nice car by the sounds of it, rather rare too so Im glad to hear your willing to keep the six rather than swap it out for an 8. If you want a good little cruiser that makes enough power to get out of its own way and sounds awesome at the cruise-ins, you cant beat my first set-up. If you want more, throw in a cam, some good pistons, a good fuel system and a turbo and have some fun!!!

Fordsix.com/forums will be your best friend if you need help with the six!
