i understand completely what your sayen... but im not gonna not listen to music because of image change.... the 70's 80's and 90's are Gone... and they have been for 7years.. all im sayen is i used to be there in late 80's early 90's my brothers the same age as most of you.. when rap went from NWA (good stuff) to ja rule, and M&m.. i was done with it.. sure i hear a good song here and there i like.. but NWA and tupac are gone... just like acdc and sabith, pantara, and matallica, gone.. i guess i just adjusted better then the rest of you.. theres still some crazy @$$ bands out there that i still love like atryu... wild! but all the rest are the same to me as sublime g-day and for the most part matallica i let the new stufff replace the old stuff.. i moved on with time... you guys sat in the same place waiting the older stuff to come back out!!!

Im not waiting for the older stuff to come out. Metallica is still around. Their last album only sounded like **** cause thats what the record company wanted. I heard versions of the songs before they were remixed and they sounded like and justice for all. Its the record companys fault they decide what music is going to sound like.

To somewhat get this thread back on topic, Anthony Kiedis could singlehandedly throat kick any of these industry puppets that claim to have an ounce of credibility when it comes to writing music, performing, and living a lifestyle that is music.

Long gone are the days when stories of the sort involving names like, Layne Stanley, Kurt Cobain, Wes Berggren, Brad Nowell, etc. are spoken of in the media, because the current lineup of "artisits" don't have it in them to let go of the money and "fame" that the industry creates for them.

The last thing they want to do is die before they get their retirement investments secured away...

I'm with Spiff on this one. I only listen to classic rock, some older rap on a rare occasion. I cant stand the music of my age generation, everyone is complainin about who cheated on who or who's cooler than who. Also, I cant tell the difference betweem Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco. I see EMO kids on campus and they piss me off so bad cause they always look like they want to kill themselves. I like classic rock becuase there's liveliness behind the music. Classic Rock is the best all around music IMO. Im only 20 and I had a 45 year oldish lady tell me that the music I listen too is to old for me, until someone called me and my REO Speedwagon ringtone went off on my phone, she started cracking up HAH.

HELL YEAH! Looking at that list, I forgot a lot of my favorites, but the ones I listed were what I had just listened to recently. Thats some good stuff


I personally can't stand EMO's. A friend and I were driving with a couple of people and one of them is an EMO, and he brought all of his gay cd's and made us play his ****ty music... We listened to about two songs out of curiosity... Then we threw is **** music out the window. Don't try and pass on your diseased 'music'.

Well of course BANDS will come and go, no one lives forever. I'm saying the genre itself will always be here in its truest form.

It's tough to find real rap bands that harken to the glory days. Now it's all bull****. Country has turned into a southern rock/hip young generation genre rather than what it was, and so on and so forth.

Sure there is metal that sucks, but there is still plenty of bands that are callbacks to the glory days.

Blues is another that will always be around. Jazz as well.
