Gonna suck it up and change out the plugs. Only 19,000 on an 05GT but it is time. What plug are people using and are happy with. Obviously it will have to be a one piece.

FRPP 3V0 copper plugs are 1 heat range colder and work awesome with forced induction. $140 per set of 8, though. Sure made my GT run smoother.

I love my AutoLite HT1's. Got a great deal on them on eBay. I read somewhere they are on eBay right now for $70 all 8 shipped.

On all the differen't forums I frequent, HT0's or HT1's and Brisk plugs are the most popular by far. A lot of the nitrous guys like the Brisk plugs and it seems the blower guys have better luck with HT0's.... The HT1's are actually identitical to what comes in our cars from the factory.

Plus, Brisks' are slightly cheaper until you get into the zero and negative heat ranges. Thats probably one of the reason's nitrous guys love them...

Interesting....good to know, and thanks! Although I don't remember my OEM plugs saying "Ford Racing" on them when I swapped them out. If I remember correctly, they were "Motorcraft" parts. Is there a difference between the two?

I'm not 100% sure on that. I think they have a differen't part numbers, but that could be a function of profit over from. Also, the most recent plugs are slightly differen't and one piece.

Personally I think the Brisk plugs are the best out there for the 3Vs. I wouldn't be upset about having a set of Autolites in my car though.

Does anyone know why Ford started using this plug design. Was there something wrong with the standard plugs that have been used for nearly a century?

I would think it has something to do with the shape of the heads for the newer OHC engines. I've never owned a 2V OHC Stang, so I don't know what those plugs look like. If they look like these, then I would think it is safe to assume the change of plugs came along with the change to modular engines.

Same here never had a 2v mod motor. Anyone know if the 2v mod motors had this style plug or the standard style?

2 valves have the standard plug style. Three valve plug uses this design because of the spark plug placement in between the valve, you just need a real damn long plug.

i can't belive people are still using the junk fork put in the 05-07s.i only hope you don't break one or more taking them out like many of the dealers and people have had happen.it gets very costly.

I agree 100%. There are still people that don't believe there is any problem with these plugs.
