So, final tune is 79/87 jets and static timing to 8 degrees. Have no knocking, and the car has never run as good as now. It runs real good, and pulls strong thru the register. Starts easy too. Opening the gap on the plugs had a real big impact.
It's .45... so I just doubled the standard NGK gap. I run a Crane HI-6. A friend helped me do it, because he belived a bigger gap was needed to take advantage of the ignition system, (MSD, Crane ignition boxes and such). He was right. Turns out - despite the tread name - I'm still running the same plugs, just got em set up right, and the tuning done. But next time around I might try the Autolites, just because of recommendations.
