It has no name or stamping numbers on it. I bought is used, was told it was this TCI. It sounds like it stalls around 3000 but I dont like that im cruising at 3100 at 65mph. on back roads when I pull little hills im always reving it to 3000 or more to get it going the speed limit.
Rear is a 3.55
car is at 3100lbs
cam is comp roller 35-518-8 555 lift- duration at .050 is 224 advertized is 274

If it was a TCI, it would have the part number stamped on it. Thats how my TCI converter is. I think a 3000-3500 converter is going to be a little too much for you. You should look at something more in the 2800rpm range.

For a reference...
I am using the converter that you speak of on a 331, in a 2700pound car, with a much bigger cam and a 3.70 rear gear.

The cam and rear are what decide the stall to use, otherwise the car will dog out on you.

Explain this "always revving past 3k to get it going the speed limi" a little more clearly. Perhaps your current converter is simply shot/broken/worn out if you are expereincing abnormal slippage in the tranny causing you to over-rev the car on little hills.

I have a 3k stall in my car and I don't have to rev it over 3k to get it going the speed limit.

Of course there are many factors to determine what stall to use, but the three most common are, indeed, weight, cam duration, and how steep your rear gear is.

At least, it has been for the last 60 years or so.

THE no name and no numbers is what im worried about. I have no idea what it really is, The car will move through idle but feels like Im reving it to much, 3000 is where it feels to stall at. trany is new rebuild with the red clutch kit. I called Tci a few minites a go and they recommend the same one for my setup. maybe this one is bad but
I dont know who made it. I guess I need to find a dino around harrisburg Pa.

Good dyno right down the T-pike in NJ......La Roccas in Englishtown.
There is also a decent place in Huntington Valley called JD's. (Willow Grove Exit of the T-pike)
