Well im not too sure on what condition my cooling system is at, i think the previous owner did some stuff. But i was wondering what the idea temp would be, and at what temp should i figure something is wrong. im saying this because i just installed a autometer water temp and i need to know what i should be runnin at.

thanx

some guidelines: the puter pulls timing at 226*, as i recall. so Ford must have figured that was a little hot. i dont like to see more than 205 on mine. remember the oil is hotter than the coolant - normally by about 50* or so (roughly, no oil cooler). i tend to worry about frying (dino) oil with hotter temps.

congrats on the new gauge.

I run a 180* stat in mine and the temp gauge rides right around 195*Stock radiator also.
