5.0 into a 1999--what computer ?

Looking at a project where the previous owner put a 5.0 in and says there's timing issues. I was wondering which computer should be compatible, and could that be an issue. Current doesn't know much about the car. Don't know what the original engine was. Any help or direction would be great.

Just got the VIN # and it turns out it's a 94 originally with a 6cyl. The engine is the older pushrod 5.0.

Manual or automatic?

Should be able to use a 94/95 ECU (make sure its for either manual or automatic, whichever one you have).

Someone will chime in and confirm though. I'm not 100% familiar with the SN95's.

I mean there's a few ways to skin a cat here.

Easiest on paper would be to snag a 94-95 V8 engine harness and use the 94-95 ECU. Likelyhood of finding a 30 year old, specific harness in great shape is not that high but it is possible.

You could also put the engine in and run a Holley ECU and not even mess with the factory wiring.

Could go carb. Probably the cheapest.
